Funding Research Report:
- Potential state/federal funding and corporate/private foundations narrowed down to match the needs of your agency or organization.
- Grant guidelines and application forms are obtained (as available) and included with descriptions for each funder.
- Typical yield: 30-50+ funding leads.
Monthly Research:
- Provide funding research on ongoing basis for set number of hours per month, to identify funding opportunities for your agency/organization.
Grant Calendar:
- Develop a grant calendar to help you take a proactive and organized approach to grant writing.
- Includes suggested dates of submission, amount of funding to request and type of request (e.g., general operating, program-specific, capital campaign, etc.) for each funder.
CAPITAL CAMPAIGN SUPPORT
Capital Campaign Support:
- Leighty Consulting Services does not supplant or replace services of an expert fundraising counsel for your capital campaign. Rather, we provide "support" services that are essential aspects of a successful capital campaign when staff or volunteers are not available to carry out these functions.
- We work in coordination with the fundraising expert/firm you select to guide your agency/organization towards realization of a successful campaign. We especially encourage the use of expert fundraising counsel during the pre-campaign planning and feasibility phase. We can provide referral to fundraising firms upon request.
- Capital campaign support services include preparation, design and layout of case statements, pledge cards, gift-range charts, content for web sites and brochures, foundation/prospect research, pledge redemption and donor management services, developing and maintaining campaign timelines. We also attend and participate in board meetings and/or campaign planning meetings as required.
Grant Writing - Capital Campaigns:
- Grant writing services are provided for capital campaigns and includes city, state, federal, corporate and private foundation proposals/applications.
- We provide the same full range of grant writing services (see above), except proposals are targeted to building and renovation projects, rather than programs and general operating support. Capital campaign grants include requests for outright gifts/pledges to your campaign, as well as challenge grants and grants for tax credits that can provide you with additional leverage in your fundraising efforts.

GRANT WRITING
Grant Project Coordination:
- Overall coordination for large federal grant projects, including facilitation of team meetings, gathering input from community planning and advisory groups, development of timeline and integration of content received from multiple contributors into a seamless grant document.
Grant Writing - Programs and General Support:
- Grant writing includes city, state, federal, corporate and private foundation proposals/applications.
- Provide full range of grant writing services, including both hard-copy and online submissions.
- Services include preparation of letters of intent, letters of inquiry, cover letters, cover sheets, federal forms, proposal narrative, line-item and justified budgets and required attachments (e.g., biosketches, resumes/vitaes, service area maps, organizational charts, letters of support, etc.).
PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT
- Program development services range from the brainstorming stage for a new program "idea" through the development of a fully-detailed program design complete with program goals, measurable objectives, project outcomes, target population, statement of need, geographic service area, collaborating partners and their roles, project timeline, staffing plan, evaluators and evaluation methods, sustainability plan, detailed budget, etc.
- Program development often occurs in conjunction with the grant writing process, but is a distinctly different function. Grant proposals and applications vary in the level of program detail required by the funder.
- Further definition and refinement of your program design may be needed to complete complex grant applications.
RATES & TERMS
- Leighty Consulting Services provides one FREE initial local consultation.
- Free written estimates provided upon request. Rates range from $55-75/hour, depending on the project, lead-time, etc.
- Retainer down payment (one-half of estimated cost) and signed consulting agreement required before work begins.
- Higher rate may be required for "rush" jobs and government contracts with specific insurance requirements.
- Work is billed at an hourly rate according to the terms agreed to in the consulting agreement.
- No work is done on a contingency or percentage basis.
- Final output is provided in hard copy or electronically in Microsoft Word™ format.
- Leighty Consulting Services may work with editors, graphic designers and other professional colleagues as subcontractors. However, all client projects are personally overseen and coordinated by Vicki Leighty.
